As part of a large, multi-phase renovation project at the Contamac head office, the focus turned to the design and delivery of state-of-the-art meeting rooms aimed at enhancing collaboration, productivity, and overall aesthetics. The project involved creating modern, technology-enhanced meeting spaces designed to accommodate a variety of group sizes, ranging from intimate 2-person rooms to a larger boardroom seating up to 16 people.
Client Brief, the project
From the outset, we worked closely with Contamac to develop design concepts that aligned with their vision and functional requirements. This collaborative approach ensured the new meeting rooms would not only meet the company’s practical needs but also reflect its brand. During the design phase, we suggested and supplied future-proof meeting room technologies to ensure these spaces remained adaptable to evolving technological trends. These included integrated video conferencing systems, smart displays, and wireless connectivity solutions, enabling seamless communication for both in-person and remote participants.
Once the design was finalised, we coordinated the relocation of existing departments to free up the necessary space for the new meeting rooms. Throughout this process, we prioritised minimising disruption to day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth transition for their teams.
The construction phase focused on developing meeting rooms tailored to different group sizes whilst integrating the advanced technologies we had recommended. Our goal was to create spaces that facilitated seamless communication and collaboration, fostering an environment of enhanced productivity for the Contamac team. A perforated feature ceiling was added to the boardroom, serving not only as a striking design element but also helping improve the room’s acoustics to ensure optimal sound quality for larger meetings.
Additionally, we undertook a complete strip-out of the existing spaces, followed by a full refurbishment to unify the new layout with the rest of the workspace. All meeting rooms were fitted with bespoke, purpose-made furniture that complemented the new aesthetic while maximising functionality. In the smaller meeting rooms, we installed acoustic wall felt to improve sound attenuation and reduce noise disturbances, making them ideal for focused discussions or one-on-one meetings.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of the project was the vibrant new colour schemes and décor we introduced. This design choice aimed to foster a more inspiring environment. By moving away from the clinical feel of the previous workspace and combining aesthetic appeal with functionality, the meeting rooms are now spaces that encourage creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
